As part of our education to focus on society and think about what we can do as members of society, we actively engage in various social service and volunteer activities.
I am always interested in social issues, and am developing a mindset that allows me to tackle problems as if they were my own and help others. We work hard to create an atmosphere where everyone supports the children, with the cooperation of not only the school instructors and staff, but also the local community, so that they can experience the success of thinking, proposing, and putting things into action by thinking, “What can we do?” and so that they can trust society and adults.

Beach cleaning of overseas seas
The earth belongs to all of us. As an activity to think about the environment globally while appreciating the ocean that connects all of us, we are conducting beach cleans with local friends in oceans overseas.
Create a “No Littering” poster in English using beautiful shells found at the sea! Donate it to your local Rotary Club and have it displayed on Gold Coast beaches. I speak English because I want to protect the earth together with people from all over the world. I use English because I want to convey that feeling. We want our children to experience for themselves the wonderful interactions that can occur on the other side of learning English.

What is the Heart Santa Movement?
Japanese children are too blessed. The school puts the most effort into the “Santa of the Heart” campaign at Christmas, as part of its volunteer activities to help children realize that their happiness is not something they can take for granted, to cultivate a sense of gratitude, and to cultivate a kind heart that shows kindness to those in need.
After a fun Christmas party, we brave the cold and stand on the streets to raise money for the children affected by the disaster that year. Along with presents of sweets collected at school, we deliver them to areas affected by natural disasters every year.

The beginning of sowing seeds of the heart
Participated in many charity and social service activities, such as donating blackboards to Mongolia, donating money for typhoon disaster relief in the central Philippines, and greening the “Midori no Mori” project.
Asaminami District, Hiroshima Prefecture
Together with Santa, we visited a nursery school that had been turned into an evacuation center due to a landslide. After playing English with the kindergarteners, we presented the sweets that everyone had collected.
Joso City, Ibaraki Prefecture (Kinugawa flood)
Visited a Brazilian school whose campus along the river was flooded. I was impressed by the cheerfulness of the Brazilian community, which helped each other.
Mashiki Village, Kumamoto Prefecture (Kumamoto Earthquake)
English play and comfort activities at two nursery schools. We donated the sweets everyone collected and the relief money we collected through street fundraising.
Asakura City, Oita Prefecture (heavy rains in northern Kyushu)
I went to a nursery school in a small village in the mountains. The roads were still cut off, making it difficult to reach.
Mihara City, Hiroshima Prefecture (Western Japan heavy rain)
To the disaster area deep in the mountains that has hardly been reported. We delivered the sweets we had collected to our friends at the nursery school and the Mother and Child Support Center.
Kimitsu City, Chiba Prefecture, Kyonan Town (Boso Peninsula Typhoon)
I was stunned by the blue sheets as far as the eye could see. We visited the damaged nursery school and local orphanage, and many children were happy.
Kuma River flood affected area in Kumamoto Prefecture
Due to the coronavirus, we were unable to visit in person, so we sent sweets by mail for the first time since we started our activities. We put everyone’s hearts inside the box and prayed for a speedy recovery.
Landslide disaster area, Atami City, Shizuoka Prefecture
A gift of sweets and an English play/Christmas craft workshop at a disaster-stricken children’s shelter. It was also featured on local broadcast news.
Aomori Prefecture Tsugaru/Ajigasawa District
Visited areas affected by heavy rains in August. Christmas in snowy Aomori. We were guided around the traditional culture of “Neputa” by local people.
Saji Town, Tottori Prefecture
Visited two nursery schools in areas affected by the Saji River flooding. My friends gave Santa a bouquet of radishes they had grown themselves.
Supporting Noto Peninsula, Ishikawa Prefecture
We sell hand towels designed by elementary school students and charity T-shirts designed by middle school students. Orange is Ishikawa’s color. Our Hearts are with ISHIKAWA.
